How to Prepare for an OCR Audit or Investigation
Featuring a Case Study by Anchorage Community Health

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) recently criticized the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) on its lax enforcement standards of the HIPAA Privacy Rule and Breach Notification Rule. OIG recommended that OCR begin tighter enforcement of covered entities (CEs) and suggested that OCR be more proactive in its enforcement by implementing a permanent audit program. The OIG also suggested that OCR strengthen and adjust the way it conducts its investigations.

Regardless of how OCR can “come in your door,” it is recommended that you prepare for both an OCR audit and/or OCR investigation. If your organization creates, receives, maintains or transmits protected health information or electronic protected health information, attend this informative webinar.

What You Will Learn:

  • Practical, actionable advice and approaches to assessing your privacy compliance program
  • How to reduce the risk of a breach or complaint
  • How to mitigate a penalty from an audit

This webinar’s content has been purposefully designed to help all organizations from the largest CEs and BAs (e.g., hospitals, insurers, home health services, hospice organizations, behavioral health clinics, care management firms, etc.) to the smallest BAs and subcontractors (e.g., small medical practices, clinics, dental offices, medical billing companies, IT companies, etc.). All registrants will receive a copy of the presentation on the live webinar and in your post-webinar communications.
